The House of Rad is a labor of love and I can't wait to share it with you.
Hi! I’m Jenna. I love all things design – home design, graphic design, clothing design, you name it! For four years I’ve had a marketing company that focuses on real estate marketing. Designing flyers and social media posts kept me busy, and also kept me touring new construction homes. I was obsessed!
Married to a medical student and then a resident (same dude, different training levels) kept me and my family in modest housing.
“The high ceilings, beautiful staging and high end finishes of my clients’ homes kept me eagerly scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest dreaming of our own future home. Fast forward to now.”
Although I grew up in Oklahoma, I had never been to Stillwater. Stillwater is home to Oklahoma State University, but by the time I was 18 I was eager to flee the state – Off to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, I went. And there I met my husband. After getting married we moved around to different parts of Texas and Oklahoma, finally settling in Stillwater in the summer of 2019. My husband is now [FINALLY] done with medical training and in his Big Boy job. With the intention of planting some roots, we built our home.
Discovering Stillwater
We drove around for weeks and months looking for the perfect lot. Once we found it and subsequently our builder, we started at ground zero and began designing our home. Our home is truly custom. I put the ideas I had down on paper and sent them to the home designer. Eventually we settled on the perfect layout for our family. We oversaw the progression as our little acre of paradise grew from a flat patch of grass to a home.
I wanted to blog the process but self doubt kept creeping in. I wondered, AITA for thinking anyone would actually want to see our home? But then I realized that I was constantly inspired by other women just like me who’s own design aesthetics I found so beautiful. So here it is. The House of Rad is a labor of love and I’m sharing it with you. I hope you enjoy!
All the Radness.
